"Generate definition" from Anki creates broken links to audio files
If I create a card using card creator, everything is fine: all tatoeba sentences are downloaded as mp3's and . If however I use the Generate definitions feature of Migaku Anki plugin, the extension creates a filename for wav file (smth like: sound:16952595559000543.wav), but the wav file is not recorded to deck's collection.media. In other words, it becomes a broken link. However it doesn't happen always. When it's mp3 files, they are saved and played.
OSX, Anki Version 2.1.65 (aa9a734f)

Are the files saved as wav or is only the ending on the card wav?

the files are not created at all, but the wav name is generated.

Uh, hm 🤔 Do you use a VPN or something. Think thats the first time I've heard of this outside of Migaku MPV
So this problem only applies to audio from Forvo? Or what audio specficially is affected?

no VPN. I think it only happens with Forvo, and only when the file is wav. Here's a video where i demonstrate it. https://share.cleanshot.com/B6DY76qG

also, shouldn't it try to convert wav to mp3 with this setting being turned on?

And you see, in this situation, everything was good and the file has the mp3 extension: https://share.cleanshot.com/l8XQVTnG

So basically:
1. Sometimes there is just a file name with a wav ending added to the card, without the file being added to the anki collection.
2. Sometimes it workes and the file is added to the collection and the file name is correct as mp3
Does this problem also occure when you create cards from the extension?

that's right
I will check. Lately I rarely used extension because it only works on animelon and youtube. I mine with asbplayer and then add definitions.

Have to look a bit more into asbplayer, but that one works on every video?
Lucas was working on a feature like that, but its not done.

yeah, you open aniwatch or something like that, and you drag the srt file to it and it shows the subtitles. pretty great
@Stevi (JP 38k | KR 31 | ENDE ∞) I could not reproduce this issue in case when I create cards in extension. I tried to do it with the same word 怪しい which produced empty wav file in anki. In extension everything worked fine.

@Henrik (JST)
Adding Forvo audio from Anki doesn't seem to work correctly. Specifically when added via the "Generate Definition" function in the browser.
