Kanji god not creating new kanji automatically

I used to use kanji god, but I had to reinstall anki and now it doesn't create new recognition and production cards. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks in advance!

There are always so many card types, subdecks and what not in those core decks that they are a pain to figue out What are you deck settings for the core deck, as well as the both kanji decks? Because in your first screenshot they are all sitting at 0 for everything

ok. But you have not limited your reviews or anything? There are sometimes cases where the cards are created, but people didn't see it because they set new cards to 0 or something like that

But that should be correct, no? It is supposed to look ahead to the next cards, and create kanji cards for kanji you haven't learned yet. So it makes sense that you have never seen them before

So it seems it does "work" but creates cards for the wrong kanji. Not too sure what is going on there. @Henrik (JST) I think this one is for you. In the mean time, what you can do, is just go into your collection and the core deck. Select a bunch of cards. Then go to "edit" > "Create kanji cards from selection".

You can just select all cards from today and maybe a few for the next days. It only creates them for the ones you don't know yet

Hm, I think @Henrik (JST) should still take a look. Shouldn't skip any. But maybe at the time you didn't have the look-ahead set up?

I didn't, I didn't used desktop version of anki for the past months so this probably might be happening in the background since then I wouldn't be able to tell, I'm sorry

Yeah, the addon only works when you use desktop, sadly.

But if you want to create cards for those, you can just select all your old cards that you already learned and do what I mentioned above If you do your reps on mobile, it does not work 100%. I am not 100% sure how the algo here works, but it only creates the cards while you use desktop anki

How can I do that without much effort? Is there a way to select all the ones that I've already seen, and then kanji god will filter out the ones that are already in the recognition and production decks? If i try to add old kanjis it will sort out the already added ones?

Just go to your collection and select the cards that all have >0 reviews. As you can see in the screenshot I posted above, it will only create cards for kanji you don't have a card for yet.

Not sure what you mean. If you want to create kanji cards for the cards that have been skipped because you repped on mobile, go to your card collection. Select the core deck. Sort your cards by "reviews", select all cards that have more than 0 reviews. Got to "edit" > "create kanji cards from selection". The addon will automatically scan the cards you selected and create kanji cards for the ones you don't have a card for yet.

If it is really just a problem of cards not being created because you repped on mobile, then there is nothing Henrik can do. That is the limitation of Anki. Addons only work on desktop.

Yes we developed our own SRS with Migaku Memory. But it does not yet have the Kanji God addon functionality. That will come later tho
