English-Italian dictionary

Hi, I'd like to suggest if the developers can add an English-Italian dictionary. I know from your site that Italian is on the pipeline, but I'm asking here if you can add an English-Italian dictionary to have when learning English. There are several dictionary to chose with English, but unfortunately not Italian.. I downloaded your English dictionary (Wordset) and your English-Spanish dictionary (Vicon) but I always end up searching definition on an external dictionary of mine, that I don't think I can put on Migaku, because I paid it and it's on an app.

@Hagane Is there a specific dictionary that's copyright free that you have in mind? If not, is there a paid dictionary that you recommend?

I don't know of a free dictionary, I'm sorry... I use a paid dictionary by "Zanichelli" called "il Ragazzini 2023" and it's quite thorough, I think it's one of the best, I recommend it! It's English-Italian and viceversa. Zanichelli has also other bilingual dictionaries for a lot of other languages (one language is always Italian) and they are all quite thorough; this company is well known in Italy. Another very good dictionary (but this is entirely an English dictionary) is the Oxford Dictionary of English Deluxe (mine is 2nd edition), with the Thesaurus included and etymology for most of the lemmas. It's a paid dictionary app as well. These 2 dictionaries have apps for smartphone, tablet and pc (I use them in an Apple system, but I think they're available for other systems, too). I don't know if they can be added to Migaku, I'm not good in these things, but it would be cool to have them..

Ok, thanks for the consideration! If you are preparing Italian to add on Migaku, you could consider Treccani as a source for the monolingual Italian dictionary. It's free and has a dictionary, a thasaurus, and an encyclopaedia. The only problem is that definitions are very long so I don't think it's the most suited for learners... an alternative is "Zanichelli lo Zingarelli", short but effective definitions (with also etymology of words), but it's not free as I mentioned previously; this also includes an encyclopaedia and a thesaurus I just discovered that on Mac there are 2 Italian dictionaries preinstalled: - Oxford Paravia Il Dizionario inglese - italiano/italiano - inglese / Oxford - Paravia Italian Dictionary Copyright © 2010, 2023 Oxford-Paravia Italian Dictionary, Pearson Italia, Milano - Torino, and Oxford University Press. All rights reserved. - Un dizionario italiano da un affiliato di Oxford University Press Copyright © 2005, 2023 Mondadori Education S.p.A., under licence to Oxford University Press. All rights reserved. I don't know if these are free or not, but maybe this can be helpful for your research
