Possibility of extending support to other video platforms

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to ask. Also very Japanese specific. I was wondering what the probability is of extending the Migaku video support to other video websites. Specifically: Tver - http://tver.jp NHK - 高校講座 (which has subtitles* image attached) - https://www.nhk.or.jp/kokokoza/ Personally I love the Migaku functions for Netflix and YouTube. As I also use the two above resources heavily, having integration would be a further game changer.

So I was thinking of this problem and realized that I can download the video file using the extension Video DownloadHelper which worked for both websites. Could then play it in the media player in the legacy Migaku app to mine from potentially. However, having problems with the subtitle file. I managed to download the subtitle file from NHK as a TTML file but for the life of me I can not convert it SRT..... Episode: https://www2.nhk.or.jp/kokokoza/watch/?das_id=D0022120041_00000 Here is the link to the specific subtitles: https://www.nhk.or.jp/das/caption/D0022120/D0022120041_00000_P_001.ttml Anyone who is smarter than me can figure out how to convert this file to SRT and then use with Migaku Player?? Guess another alternaive and potentially legal grey zone would be to upload the video to YouTube as a private video and get it to auto sub....then use with the new extension....

First time hearing about that format for subtitles, any chance you can use chatgpt to convert the file?

Thanks I tired. Uploaded the file and asked it to convert to SRT but that didn’t work. Then tried to paste the entire thing into it and ask to convert to srt file but it was too long. Maybe it’s possible if I break it up into sections. And then at the end combine the files. But didn’t try that yet.

Thank you! Works perfect!! Good to see it is open source too,I tried the online service, but imagine it only works with the desktop version. I am using Mac so think will need to run in an emulator.

@KUMA777 We will definitely consider expansion. If you want to suggest specific ones, it's better to post in #🧪feedback-and-ideas

Thank you and will do! Given that Tver doesn’t seem to have subtitles which would make it hard to implements. I will suggest the NHK resource for now which has subtitles for their videos already.

Crunchyroll / Amazon prime video has probably been suggested a million times already
