Translation of example sentence always in english?
I want the translation of the example sentence to be in German, but its always in English. Is there a way to change this?

Actually this edit doesn’t affect the ‘example sentence’ translation. I have mine set to Japanese. Which means the translation and ChatGPT explanation are Japanese, so only the example sentence translation is not Japanese.

The translations can't be set to JP.
The translation setting to the left can't be set to JP, as that would make no sense (JP sentence and JP translation?)
The GPT explanation can be set to JP, but that only affects the GPT translation.
When the UI of the extension is set to JP, then the translation of the example sentences is also in JP
So currently there is no way to set it to German

@Saxon is it normal/expected that the translation of the example sentences of the dictionary is not effected by the translation settings, but it is effected by the language settings of the UI?

Thank you for your anwser, but a friend who‘s also using migaku claimed his translations of example sentences are in german. So i thought there‘s a way

They are probably talking about the sentence translation and not the example sentence translation. Meaning the sentence on the front of your card

Ah durp! Clearly I need to think before posting more haha I don’t use the ‘see translation’ very often and forgot the actual word translation in Japanese is due to the monologue dictionary and not a setting in Migaku.
As you mentioned a straight up translation of a sentence into the same language makes zero sense unless it does more of a context explanation of the word like ChatGPT does - which is actually super handy!
