Automatically creating 'listening', 'reading', 'translation' card types
I just subscribed to migaku after years of manually making my flashcards. When i manually make my flashcards, i've added 3 card types to my custom note type:
1. A card type that plays the cards audio on the front and displays everything else on the back
2. A card type that displays the japanese sentence on the front and everything else on the back,
3. A card type that displays english translation and everything else on the back.
Each card type serves a different purpose.
1. For practicing listening comprehension,
2. For reading practice,
3. For recall of the Japanese sentence/translating practice.
I've set my migaku anki add on to use the migaku Japanese note, but that note only makes one card that simply has the japanese sentence on the front. Is there anyway you can make it so the 3 card types i mentioned above are automatically created when I send a sentence to anki from the migaku dashboard?

So after looking around in the settings, i've noticed there's a "card promotion" thing you have going on. Which i don't understand why this is a thing and it's my first time hearing of this.
listening, reading and recalling are seperate skills and i would like to have a seperate card for each so i can train them each individually.
is this possible? if not i'd be really sad because i was excited to increase my productivity with migaku. This should be a really basic feature

Uh, just don't use the Migaku Note Type and use your own then. But card promotion is a useful feature. Since a card only exists in one state it prevents situation where you have different card types of the same note due the same day. It does mean it's slower to review the other types of cards, but that means you had to get good at knowing one aspect of the card before upgrading to a new type.
That said, I use a custom note type w/ multiple card types myself with the addon "Delay Siblings" to prevent similar reviews showing up next to each other.

You can add Migaku pitch/reading syntax to your own note type just fine.

I'll leave pitch accent to later maynnn.
so all i've got to do is make my own note type(with the card types i want), with all the fields, and map them right?

Pretty much. Don't neglect pitch, at least spend a day or two learning the basics so have an idea of the differences between what you are listening to.
The Migaku Pitch Trainer is pretty helpful for listening practice. <kotu.io> is also an option.

if you insist
how do i do this?
rising-crimson•6mo ago
Go to Tools > Manage Note Types > Select your note type > Click Migaku Options button
Then customize the look of the syntax here.

Like this is how the back of my listening cards look.

And when you map fields.

Although if you are using Legacy extension, the field mapping is in Migaku Dictionary's card creator.
