Copy Pasting media into Anki Card Creator
One of the best features of past Migaku was that I could simply copy and paste images and audio from ShareX directly into the card creator (for example when reading a story in Satori Reader I could quickly capture audio and then paste immediately into the card creator).
In the new card creator the add audio and image seem to only be a button with no field to allow pasting. Is there any way to paste images and audio directly? This would be a huge time saver during card creation.

Currently if I just press paste it defaults to pasting audio into word audio, but is there a way to have it paste into sentence audio field instead?
And also is there no more option to search through Google images and see a list of images to use? It seems like it just does random image fills now
When you see the word in the dictionary you can click the images button and it’ll pull the images from bing, but in the card creator it just pulls them in order rather then letting you pick

Thanks I see how to find images below the dictionary entry that helps. And yeah was just curious about how to get my audio into sentence audio field with paste.
If I only use one audio track anyway I guess having sentence audio in the word audio field would still work I guess?

I guess
it's extremely uncommon to use your own sentence audio as that's one of the main benefits of using Migaku in the first place

Satori reader has native audio recordings of the stories
So Im adding that to the cards I mine from the stories
One other thing I noticed was when I enabled Migaku on the story page, it suddenly changed around the text and a lot of words were misspelled if that makes sense. I attached two images of before and after . Not sure why it’s messing up the text like totally removing words

That’s cuz satori’s web code that allows for looking up words and things interferes with Migaku system that adds all the underlining and everything, maybe it’ll be fixed when the next update comes out that allows mining text from sites without the added fluff #🛣roadmap

so how do I bulk-add google/bing images to my anki cards? The old anki addon could do this, but I can't see how to do that with the extension
Idk, I remember having an old batch image creation addon I had tried, but honestly didn’t feel it was worth it in the end. Not sure if the Anki Migaku addon has this feature at all I’ve never tried looking for it @HulK

Wow. Is that a planned feature? Because I'm not a fan of "enshittification."
Even when using the dictionary in the browser extension to try to find images, I get "Hmm, no results were found" - so, how can I add images to cards? Just copy and paste them myself from google?
I'm also getting a broken image when I try to use the Anki addon.
The Anki addon page even mentions being able to add images to cards, but is that a lie now?
Please don't tell me this app I've wasted hundreds of dollars on has gotten even MORE useless after I've gone through all the trouble to try to get it working...

I meant with the extension. I don't think it's concretely planned as of right now.
Anki addon should work unless something's bugged. What version of Anki, the addon, and what browser?

Are you saying that google/bing images show up for you right now in the extension, and are also properly generated in the Anki addon?
For the extension yes, I don’t use Anki currently but there haven’t been a huge surge of people reporting breaks for it so I believe it is still working currently

I only have Edge and Chromium...I would think that most Chromium browsers should be supported if Migaku wants to increase market share...
I can try installing Chrome, but I'm going to be angry if I waste an hour doing that and it doesn't fix the problem, esp b/c I don't want to add a third browser just for this...
From my understanding due to lack of resources they don’t currently support anything besides official chrome browser. It sounds like people have sometimes had success with chromium browsers but not always I think.
From what I see most people just keep chrome for just Migaku since it’s not always reliable with other browsers

Is the Anki addon working for adding images?
Also, is the addon supposed to just add one image, or multiple? Jw what to expect, since I can't get it to work rn obv
seems to be working in my version of Chromium (which is a bit old), in both the browser and Anki - but it only adds one image to Anki. Is there a way to add more than one?

I've never even used bulk creation but I'm pretty sure it adds the first result. I think this feature only works with Legacy.
I can't get it to generate fields in Anki tho

I see...I thought yoga understood the value of having multiple images, since just one image can be hit-or-miss in terms of relevance
on a related note, in "generate definitions" how do you choose to only populate one field, (e.g., images), i.e. set where something maps to to be "None"?? Do I need to make a custom garbage field to capture anything I don't want?

Surprisingly, this actually seems to sort-of work to add multiple images - only problem is the image files are all SUPER tiny, like 82x46 pixels - they seem to be saved as this size regardless of how many images I tell it to pull, and in the extension as well, they show up as blurry.
Is there a way to make them bigger?
EDIT: seems like images will be larger if I ask it to add more than 5 - the first 5 are always blurry/tiny
That’s odd, although that’s with the legacy extension right? I don’t think it’d ever get fixed then, i doubt all first five images just happen to be that small size, i wonder if it’s the css of the card being wonky at all 🤔

seems to be the case within the extension as well
adding more than 5 makes the card look nice - notice in the tank image, the first 5 look tiny
tho it seems like it's sometimes only the first 3 that are crappy, as if it's a "preview"
But yeah, it's the legacy extension. At least it "works" and is compatible with the new Anki addon - the new extension (and by extension, the Anki addon when used w/it) only gets 1 image, so...
However, it seems that the legacy extension ALSO doesn't give images in Edge, only in Chromium
Well I think legacy also only ever worked in chrome. I don’t think they’ve ever supported more than chrome iirc
So it happens with any words? If it’s not a consistent number then it could possibly just be that that’s the size they get back 🤔 I know they get results from bing
And yeah in modern Migaku you can add multiple images from the popup dictionary, it shows a list and you can select which you want, but not in batch creation yet at least
