Is it possible to remove the brackets at the end of {{text:Target Word}} ? (Removing Syntax)

For exemple {{text:Target Word}} for 棒 gives 棒[ぼう;h], when I want to query a dictionnary website it's not very great because it dosen't recoignize the world with the brackets.
<div style="text-align:center"><a href="https://jisho.org/search/{{text:Target Word}}">Check in Jisho</a></div>
<div style="text-align:center"><a href="https://marumori.io/dictionary/search?q={{text:Target Word}}">Check in MaruMori</a></div>
<div style="text-align:center"><a href="https://www.wanikani.com/search?query={{text:Target Word}}">Check in Wanikani</a></div>

Like remove it completely from the card? You can edit the map fields and select the no syntax option. It’ll get rid of highlighting though

It's to remove the brackets thing at the end of the word when you use the Migaku "tag" {{text:TargetWord}} which returns the target word and just after it [ぼう;h] (as an exemple). I only want the word. Do you know if it's possible?

You’re talking about 棒[ぼう;h] right? You’d need to select the no syntax option in the map fields

Ok I'm going to try

To clarify, that won’t update old cards, it’ll only be applied to any new cards going forward. You’d have to go in and manually delete the brackets in old cards or look up a bulk editing addon for Anki and see if it can mass delete it for you

I managed to remove it from a few cards but when I added a new one it still shows up, I didn't understand how I can do so every new card doesn't have the brackets? Ok I managed to find how to do it. For future users go in Migaku > Map Fields... > Click on Field Maps then change Sentence or Target Word to Sentence (no syntax) or Target Word (no syntax) in the drop-down menu and then create a random flashcard, click add and you're good to go, the syntax will be removed for the next cards you add. Thanks anyway 👍

That’s what I said to do, but glad you figured it out 👍🏻

I'll reply to this thread I guess. I have tried the options above, but I'm still getting single brackets appear from my new migaku cards that I import into Anki. Do I need to do something in Migaku as well?

So you made sure that in map fields in Anki you selected no syntax option?

If it still adds the syntax despite the settings above, that might be a bug. @Henrik (CEST) have you seen this issue before?
