Subtitles Incorrectly Marked as Hidden

Hi team, I’ve encountered a new issue in the latest version of the Migaku YouTube Player. The player incorrectly states that subtitles are hidden by settings, even though I have not hidden them. Even after toggling the “show/hide subtitles” option multiple times, the player continues to display the same message and does not show the subtitles, this happens on all videos (iOS 18.4.1). This issue only started appearing after the latest update — previously, everything worked fine. I’d like to know if: • There is a new setting I need to enable or configure, or • This is a known bug you’re already working on. To help you investigate, I’m sending a YouTube link along with screen recordings that show exactly what’s happening. YouTube: https://youtube.com/shorts/Q6Jj7xxZ0D8?feature=share Let me know if you need additional info or logs. Thanks in advance! Kasim

Update: Just tried it on the browser extension, it does the same thing. When loading a video, it says: No {target_language} subtitles available, although they are obviously available or that the '{target_language} subtitles do not match the audio'. The extension then automatically sets target subtitles to 'None’, and whenever the user manually changes it, it doesn't do anything, the subs never load.

This same thing stared happening to me today. Even on videos that i had previously watched with NO PROBLEMs. I reinstalled the extention and the problem persist. This makes it impossible to even parse any subtitles on youtube.

If you manually click on the subtitles in the display options, they dont even pop up anymore. Can we get a fix on this?

The last couple of days it's been happening with every single video that has soft subs in mandarin chinese. I'm not sure about other languages. So the only way user can see the subtitles is to generate them with AI, even when a video has soft subs. iOS - keeps saying I have disabled my subtitles Chrome extension - either that they are not available, or that the subs do not match the audio Tagging @Saxon and @nathan-power

I'm on the Migaku trial, and this is the problem I'm also experiencing (in browser, like @Ghost In Prime White 🐉 is experiencing); specifically joined the Discord to find more info or report the issue.

Same for me on iOS and Android early access apps, haven't tried chrome or the normal apps. Did reinstall on Android and the issue is still there.

Looks like the latest version of the Migaku app for iOS has removed or disabled generated subtitles. Fortunately, this seems to be related to recent updates. Could you please confirm if this is a known issue, and whether a fix is expected soon?
