Kanji deck counts towards known words?

Hey guys, I was doing some very light mining just to try out the workflow and I noticed some words being marked as known when I didn’t actually know them. I then took a quick look at the old extension to check my known words and it seems like I have some standalone kanji in there that I know the meaning of from the kanji deck but never really learned any words using them. I guess my question is, do you guys use the kanji deck for the known words as well?

I don’t think it’s supposed to count @HulK

Hmmm because I’m pretty sure I’m seeing some stand alone kanji on my known word list that I’m very much sure are not (yet at least) in any of my academy cards And academy is the only deck I’m doing currently I can send some examples in a second too Actually, the problem might not be the kanji deck but the way words are parsed? For example, I’ve had the word 牛乳 appear in a card but I’ve never had the word 乳 appear by itself, however, in the legacy extension list I have it as “seen” even tho I’ve never actually “seen” the word by itself It also shows as seen when I mine of course Additionally I also have the word 寺 as “seen” when again I’ve never “seen” it (even tho I do know the word) and in this case I don’t even have a card in the academy deck with this word (that I’ve reviewed at least)

it's parsed together so I don't think that'd be it however this seems like it might be mistakenly marked learning @Chozarmeleon

Yea I kinda thought the same but I’ve been getting some weird parses lately and I’m not exactly sure anymore 😅. I’ve been starting to watch the beginner playlist and the first few videos for some reason I get stuff like this. I’ve “seen” the second dictionary entry but not the first and for some reason the less common word is the one being picked up so I get a “unknown word” marker

I’ve been getting quite a few of these for example with 怒る (おこる) and 怒る (いかる) as well as 入る (はいる) and 入る (いる) and a few others where usually the word will be marked as unknown (I assume it was parsed as the version of the word I don’t know) while the word that’s actually being said is actually the version of the word I know

For verbs that's likely due to the parsing. All verb forms are likely treated as the same word

Ah I see. Would I see any better results on PC or is it the exact same? Also I’m assuming the parsing doesn’t take context into account whatsoever. I was just curious why in that case it gave me the less common version of the verb instead of the very common one

same I'm not super knowledgeable about the jpn parser but it takes into account the following kana/kanji but not the context as a whole

Ok yea makes sense it’s more or less what I thought. Just found it interesting that it picked the less common version I found some new examples if you want me to send of even kanji radicals marked as seen which doesn’t make much sense
