Chinese YouTube

I'm watching YouTube on Windows 11 with Chrome using the alpha extension. One thing about Chinese is that it's funky because there's two writing systems: simplified and traditional. I'm officially studying the simplified version of the language. I think this YouTuber is from Taiwan and so the title etc is using traditional characters. But my settings are for simplified Chinese. There are no subs so I had Migaku make subs for me. It seems to have made subs using the traditional script instead. Why? Also, the whole experience seems buggy. If I set words to known, studying, or any status, it seems like the app saves the changes but then they disappear randomly.
