iOS app not using downloaded media on unstable connection

Hey everyone, I'm using Migaku on my daily train commute that passes through an area with very spotty internet coverage. In this environment the app has trouble displaying media, even though my library reports as "Offline ready". Shouldn't the app just always use the downloaded media, even when I have a connection? Even if it's just to conserve mobile data allowance. Device: iPhone XR iOS Version: 18.4.1 Migaku Version: 1.9.1
