Migaku won't capture audio and video when mining content with ASB Player?

So yeah when creating a card migaku will not record + make a screenshot + get audio like it usually does for say Netflix. Anyone know a fix for this?
Solution:
Migaku doesn’t work with asb player. For Netflix do you have harder acceleration turned off? Also are you on chrome? It’s the only official browser supported...

damn that sucks. I need to have the ability to mine while offline so I guess I will just switch back to yomitan + asbplayer. Im really not sure why migaku is $10 a month if it has less features than a free mining equivalent...

Yomitan and asb player just let you mine videos and texts right? I’ve used it I liked it. But Migaku has more features than that. You can make ai generated subs for YouTube videos that don’t have any subs, they have a popup dictionary so you can choose images and audio to go with the card (useful for reading based mining), they also have ChatGPT explanations which works well as a backup when a word doesn’t exist in the dictionary, you can mine on the mobile app through YouTube, it has their academy courses to help you get started in a language, it has their comprehension scores so you can get an estimate at a glance how hard something will be. It has plenty of other features it’s just whether these are useful to you or not

I like the comprehension % and recommended sentences but pretty much everything else can just be accomplished with Yomitan + asbplayer and the right anki add-ons. But anyway not being able to mine offline content and migaku slowly switching to its own eco-system and worsening Anki support (can only sync Anki cards on migaku legacy) has just turned me off from the whole thing. I think its probarbly more useful for languages besides Japanese but Japanese learners are just spoilt with tons of great FREE and OPEN SOURCE resources and migaku isn't doing enough to compete imo.

That’s fair I known Anki improvements are in the roadmap after player and reader are out but I agree I wish it was better already. And yeah Japanese users have way more choices im always jealous ;-; I guess you could recreate some of these things with other tools but Migaku does it all in one for you, it’s convenient. I think their target audience is part of the group that doesn’t want to setup all these extra things to do the same thing. But if you don’t mind doing that then yeah I’d say it’s not gonna be worth it, maybe until you get through the academy course and then that’d be it

yeah the all in one nature is very nice, I just wish it would work offline both because I don't always have a internet access and also because many shows i want to find are not on a streaming service so its easier to download them. Anyway thanks for being chill about this, I thought maybe since I complained a bit in the migaku discord people would get annoyed but it seems most people here are aware of the issues of migaku and are level headed about it.

Yeah people here know of the issues we complain all the time 😂 if you stay here long enough you’ll see a revolt starts every few weeks so trust the devs are aware and are working towards fixes for things :KEKW:

You should be able to use the Bootleg Player to still do the recording of audio etc. even offline. Is there anything else that can record image/audio for cards? I haven't used other stuff in years, so is that a feature now elsewhere?

P sure you can do it with yomitan and asb player but I forget exactly what I did to set it up, might be built in now 🤔 There’s also language reactor, that ones been around for a while but it’s completely ai focused now I believe but can be good if you’re learning a language with not much resources. For Korean I know of kimchi reader, but ya know ofc it’s only for Korean so works great for Korean but nothing else lol
