There is a Migaku Anki add on that works with the new note type which you can find on their website and that feature exists. In the card browser, if you right click a card there should be an option to generate definitions and that will generate image, definition, word audio and example sentences

No worries! They can’t coexist only in terms of parsing, so i usually have the old one off and only turn the extension on when using it but i still have both on chrome

I personally use the new one for almost everything and the old one for the video player, reader and the known word list and Anki known word updates.

One of the reasons the new one has such “slow” updates is because they are trying to get the new extension to the point where the old one was feature wise

You don’t need to switch to legacy, both extensions can co exist and a lot of people do that because there’s still some features the old one has that the new doesn’t

I would go with the first one. Kinda sucks they don’t have a good feature like this in the new extension but I guess their main focus is Migaku memory compatibility, not Anki

Anki doesn’t have a good easy way to integrate with your known words but you have 2 choices.
1) easiest one, install the legacy chrome extension and there should be a button in there to export your known words from Anki (it’ll basically look at every card you have with 21+ day interval, look at the field or fields you chose and import them). You might have to install the Brave browser as chrome doesn’t let you install the legacy extension anymore.
2) do this by hand so check every card you have with 21+ days, make a list and import it on the new extension, there’s a place to do so

How does one use ePub and PDF eBooks with migaku?
Like they said, either copy the text or use a reader together with the Migaku extension. I think the mobile app can “open” pdfs too (likely just copy and pasting the text)

Hmmm okok I’ll try to ignore these cases for now and see if that annoy me a lot especially in cases where the reading is in fact very different in meaning. Thank otherwise I’ll start marking them as known as well

Am I? Because I tried pasting the character by itself and then the phrase in question and the character by itself is marked as known but when used in that sentence it’s marked as unknown
