Using な-adjectives to describe verbs

Using な-adjectives to describe verbs

Describe verbs

Adverbs are words you use to describe verbs or adjectives. In the English sentence He runs quickly, quickly is the adverb, as it describes how he runs.

To use な-adjectives as adverbs, you simply add to them.

下手(へた) → 下手(へた)

Poor → poorly

(かれ)(しず)部屋(へや)(はい)った

He entered the room quietly.

()どもたち元気(げんき)(あそ)んでいる

The children are playing energetically.

問題(もんだい)慎重(しんちょう)チェックしてください

Please check the problems carefully.

Special Note

One could argue that these are not "true" adverbs in a technical sense, but for simplicity's sake, we will categorize them as such.
