That~
Besides こと, の can also be used for nominalization.
Nominalization is the process of converting a word that is not a noun (such as a verb, adjective, or adverb) into a noun.
By adding の to a sentence, we can create a noun phrase, which can then function as either a direct object (with を), or as a subject (with は).
彼が来るのを待っている。
I'm waiting for him to come.
日本語を勉強するのが楽しい。
Studying Japanese is fun.
人と話すのが苦手です。
I'm not good at talking with people.
