A person's name, but politer
If you have interacted with Japanese media before, you probably have already encountered さん as a suffix that is attached to names. It is used as a title of respect. To use it correctly, simply add it to a surname or given name.
運転士は田中さんだ。
The driver is Mr./Ms./Mrs. Tanaka.
吉田さんの軽自動車じゃない。
It's not Ms./Mrs./Mr. Yoshida's light motor vehicle.
In addition to being used with names, さん can also be attached to occupations or titles.
